The United Nations Children’s Fund is called UNICEF. It does a lot of work in Sudan.
It is the world’s largest provider of vaccines for developing
countries. UNICEF supports child health and nutrition, good water and
sanitation, quality basic education for all boys and girls, and the
protection of children from violence, exploitation, and AIDS.
UNICEF is funded entirely by the voluntary contributions of
individuals, businesses, foundations and governments. This websites gives information about what life is like for children in Sudan.
It explains the impact of war on Sudanese children and what is being
done to improve conditions for Sudanese refugees. This website also has
useful statistics about children in Sudan. To read a diary describing what it is like for a visitor to Sudan, please visit the online diary of Julianna Lindsey, who works for UNICEF. |
