A refugee supermodel: Alek Wek (Goto website)
Alek Wek was a refugee who left Sudan when she was 14 and went to live in England. She was spotted in a market in London and has become a world famous supermodel. Alek remembers how hard it was to be a Sudanese refugee so she tries to help other refugees by raising money and telling her story around the world. So, as well as being an incredible supermodel, she is an incredible role model for all people working with Sudanese refugees. This webpage tells you all about Alek's work for the U.S. Committee for Refugees and you can listen to a radio interview by Alek.
